Delay Timing - 5 millisecond bias
Date posted: March 27, 2008
Comments updated: April 9, 2008
Revision containing correction: 4.
Summary: 5 Millisecond difference in delay between what user requests and what actually occurs.
Details: When a user requests a delay of N milliseconds and N > 6 the actual delay is approximately N+5 milliseconds. When N is zero the actual delay is zero. When 0 < N < 6 then the actual delay is is approximately 5 to 6 milliseconds.
Status: Resolved. Except as noted in the next sentence, delay is now rendered so that the average delay is within one millisecond of what the user requests. When a user requests a delay of 1 or 2 milliseconds that will be rendered as approximately 3.5 milliseconds.
